Unveiling of Walkers latest sculpture
Unveiling of Walkers latest sculpture

Stunning bronze pages glisten in the spring sunshine at the installation of a new artwork.

Midlands artist Peter Walker was present as generations of the Dayus family were present to witness the unveiling of a new piece of bronze sculpture to commemorate the life and works of Brummie author Kathleen Dayus.

Kathleen, born 1903 in Birmingham's world famous Jewellery Quarter, lived near the George and Dragon public house in Albion Street, Hockley. She later wrote extensively about the colourful life led there and the poverty that went with it.

The latest work by renowned Sculptor Peter Walker takes the form of two pages and depicts words taken from one of Kathleen Dayus's novels.

Walkers work goes from strength to strength as this is one of many pieces of public art that he has produced.

He can also be commissioned to produce a piece of art for the private sector. So whether you are a private individual/collector or designer/architect his work is available to you.

Rock34 can work with you for a public or private commission. The more interesting your ideas the better.
